About International Community of Double bassists (ICB):

The International Community of Double bassists (ICB) is a non-profit global
network created to inspire, connect, and empower the double bass community
across cultures, generations, and artistic disciplines.
We founded the ICB with the conviction that our instrument and our community
deserve a wide and inclusive space at the international level.
A community is, above all, about people — about shared passion and mutual
support. The ICB is inclusive and open, without barriers or formalities. For us, being
a community means creating a living network that grows stronger through connection
and collaboration. Together, we can achieve more than any one of us could alone.

Our Mission

The ICB aims to:

-Promote the double bass and its role in performance, teaching, research, and
creative collaboration.
-Support artistic creation, performance, and pedagogy through international
collaboration and shared resources.
-Encourage participation at all levels — from young students and amateurs to
seasoned professionals — across all musical traditions and practices.
-Provide platforms for performance, learning, and dialogue to cultivate creativity and
artistic excellence.
-Support double bass events worldwide — workshops, camps, festivals, and
educational programs — by promoting them, facilitating connections, and offering
assistance when needed.
-Connect bassists and institutions, promoting diversity, inclusion, and equitable
access, with particular support for students and bassists facing financial or
geographic challenges.

The ICB is not simply an organization; it is a community in the truest sense — a meeting point for ideas, artistry, education, and collaboration.
We are only at the beginning of this journey, but with your participation, ideas, and energy, we can build something that will benefit bassists everywhere for years to come.
